We are proud to welcome Nohara by Mizuno in Harajuku as one of our latest Healthy Partners. They’re a brand new concept in helping people achieve a healthy lifestyle through their all-in-one fitness studio, restaurant/café, running station, and sports apparel shop in fashionable Harajuku. In this blog post, we’d like to introduce you to their “Run Station”, which makes it easy and affordable for those who are looking for rental lockers for jogging in Harajuku and Yoyogi Park.
The Run Station starts you off by making available all the essentials for a good jog: lockers, showers, and bath towels. Lockers can be rented for as a little as ¥750 a day, or for only ¥3000 a month as a member, you can have access any time you want. A face and bath towel set goes for ¥250 each use, and you can even have your own shoe box for ¥1500 a month. Running shoes, tights, and sunglasses are available for free as long as stock remains.
Nohara’s Run Station has 48 lockers for women, 54 for men; 48 shoe boxes; four showers for women and three for men. They also have 36 security boxes for runners who require one. Their hours of operation depend on the time of year; from December to March the Run Station is open from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM on weekdays, and 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM on weekends. From April to November, they’re open from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM on weekdays, and 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM on weekends. The Run Station accepts cash only, no credit cards.
But that’s not all that makes Nohara by Mizuno’s Run Station so convenient. For beginner joggers or those completely new to running, the Run Station also has several running program options. One is a monthly running clinic for the total beginner that teaches warm up drills, practice methods, and then goes on four runs designed to get the most out of you. Each session is 90 minutes, broken down into a 20 minute warm up, an hour-long main run, and a 10 minute warm down. Clinic space is limited (only 15 people); you can join as a member for ¥5,940 or try it out as a visitor for ¥7,020.
There’s also a running class for those who don’t need all the teaching and just prefer to run. These four-time-a-month sessions are each an hour long (20 minute warm up, 25-30 minute main run, 10 minute warm down). Here too, class space is limited to 15 people; monthly membership is ¥4,860, visitors pay ¥5,940.
There are several running courses they cover for jogging in Harajuku and Yoyogi Park; the routes take you to downtown Omotesando, Minami Aoyama, past Meiji Jingu Stadium into Meiji Park, around Meiji Jingu Gaien and of course through scenic Yoyogi Park. With so much to see as you get yourself into tiptop shape, why not give them a try?
