This test kit is to check and screen for a Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) infection, which causes Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS). It measures HIV antibodies that are generated in the body from an HIV infection.
Antibodies can be detected 2 – 3 months after infection in many cases. However, in rare cases they may not be detected until after 6 months.
The antibodies are not generated for a while after an infection. This means you cannot rule out the possibility of an infection even with a negative test result. Please wait until 2 months after possible exposure to take this test. If the result is negative but you are still concerned, please take the test again two months later.
Further examination at a specialized medical institution is necessary as the possibility of HIV infection cannot be denied.
It usually takes 2-3 months after infection before detection is possible. It can take up to six months. If you are concerned, please test yourself again after two months and/or consult with a medical professional.
Occasionally an HIV test result may indicate the presence of HIV antibodies (positive result) when in fact you are not infected with HIV. The probability of a false positive test result is said to be 3/1000. If you have a positive test result please visit a competent medical institution for a consultation and retesting.
There is no wonder drug yet. However, by combining several medicines the development of AIDS may be prevented or slowed over a long period of time allowing patients to live normal daily lives.
This is only in case the kit doesn’t get delivered to the lab. It is a safety precaution so your test can return to you.
