A classic wine, this full-bodied and complex rosé is produced from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon with layers of ripe fruit flavours. The delightful strawberry hues of this wine announce the rich aromatic profile of ripe, juicy strawberries, raspberries and rhubarb pie. The palate explodes with the same flavours: wild strawberry, raspberry jam, and red rhubarb, reinforced by crisp acidity and an underlying minerality. The finish is long and full, yet refreshing. An extraordinarily flexible food wine, it pairs equally well with charcuterie, a glazed loin of pork, with fruit salad or with roast turkey and cranberries. Or perhaps the best way of all to enjoy it: a glass all by itself!

This is a rare and delicious example of a Cabernet Sauvignon rosé. The appeal begins with the colour, which glows like ruby. The wine has powerful aromas of strawberry and raspberry. On the palate, there are intense flavours of strawberry, cherry and rhubarb. The endless finish is crisp and dry.
The high-quality Cabernet Sauvignon berries grown specifically to produce this wine naturally bring loads of fresh fruit character to the wine. Thus from a winemaking perspective, the focus is on accentuating complexity by using multiple smaller ferments, with different skin contact times and fermentation regimes. After hand-harvesting and gentle crushing, we soak on the grape skins from 24-48 hours, depending upon the fermentation lot, before pressing and the onset of fermentation. A cool ferment in stainless steel tanks, followed by minimal handling prior to bottling allows us to maximize the retention of flavours and aromas that make this such a crowd-pleasing wine.

The name Clos du Soleil, a French term meaning an enclosed Vineyard of the Sun, refers to the rocks, soil, and sun, which together define this very special piece of land where we grow our grapes. The enclosure is the mountain that forms a tall natural stone wall at the back of our vineyard, almost surrounding the cobbled terroir which lends its unique flavours to our wines. Most importantly, our name highlights the long days of sun which pour in on the Similkameen Bench, one of BC’s most unique and promising microclimates.
