About the product
This corn is of a super-sweet variety, and is organically certified by ICS Japan. Because certified organic corn has not been around as long as other corn, its color, size, and sweetness are not as even as other corn; however, among certified organic corn this corn is of the highest quality.
The corn comes in easy-to-use ziplock bags, and because Sugarlady’s vegetables are blanched before freezing, the corn remains vibrant and undamaged when frozen for long periods. Even if your sweet corn has been frozen for months, once defrosted it will still be a beautiful golden color.
Sweet corn contains folate (also called B9), beta cryptoxanthin, and thiamine, and its sweetness makes it ideal for use in flavoring salads, stir-fries and other dishes. Sugarlady’s vegetables are harvested in season and then frozen immediately in order to ensure the highest possible nutritional value and best flavor.
How to prepare
When using the sweet corn, you can take out the portion you need without defrosting the package. Sweet corn can used in a wide range of dishes, including butter stir-fry, soup, pilaf, or fried food. For use in salad, boil the corn briefly with a little bit of salt and then dry off. The sweet corn can be added frozen when stir-fries or soups are nearly finished, and will thaw to perfection with no need to worry about undercooking or overcooking. Sweet corn can also be added for flavor and texture to croquet stuffing, chirashi-zushi (loose sushi rice with small pieces of vegetable and egg mixed in), and a wide range of other dishes.
