About the product
Now healthier, with 40% less sugar content! The katsudon ingredients contain tender fillet. Simply warm up in the microwave and serve over rice.
Katsudon is a staple Japanese dish, with a bowl of rice topped with a deep-fried pork cutlet, egg, vegetables, and condiments. The name literally derives from 2 Japanese words: Tonkatsu (pork cutlet) and Donburi (deep dish).
Our katsudon are very similar to our oyakodon product- with chicken instead of pork cutlets. Please consider our oyakodons as well after you’ve enjoyed our katsudon.
How to prepare
To prepare in a microwave, tear off a size from the frozen bag and place the bag on a heat resistant plate. Follow the microwaving instructions and serve over warm rice (1 serving). I will take 4 minutes in a 500W microwave or 4 minutes 30 seconds in a 600W model.Cooking suggestion: in addition to the instructions, we also suggest topping the katsudon with kizami nori (seaweed flakes). Simply sprinkle dry chopped seaweed if desired, or green onions for some greens in your dish. A side of miso soup compliments this dish very well. The cooking times listed are approximate. Please be sure to make adjustments to the instructions, based on your appliance model, the size of the container, etc. Please be careful not to burn yourself because the heating process will make the product very hot.
