About the product
Soft prunes with pits removed, cultivated in the State of California in America. The word prune here refers to European plums (as opposed to Asian plums), and is also a general term for plums that have been dehydrated after harvesting. There are a great many types of both European and Asian plum, but broadly speaking, European plums tend to be smaller and a blue or purple color, and Asian plums tend to be larger and a red color.
Prunes contain many nutrients, including iron, calcium, dietary fiber, and vitamin A. They make a tasty snack, and can also be used as an ingredient in a variety of dishes.
While these prunes have been pitted, on rare occasion pits may be missed, so please consume with care. Please note that eating too many prunes can have a laxative effect.
How to prepare
These prunes can be enjoyed as they are. Prunes can be eaten by themselves as a snack, or chopped up and added as flavoring to oatmeal or porridge. They can also be baked into desserts, and even cooked with meat dishes. These prunes are soft, but soaking the chopped prunes before adding them to other foods can make them even softer and can bring out even more of their flavor. After opening the package of prunes for the first time, reseal it, store it in the fridge, and eat the remaining prunes as soon as possible.
