About the product
We cooked wheat flour and rapeseed oil in a kettle over an open fire (about 1.5 hours, reaching up to 120℃) to make the roux, then added the fresh cream to create a velvety texture. By thoroughly cooking the wheat flour at high temperatures, we draw out its fragrance and flavor; resulting in a sauce with richness and umami.
Seasonings such as sauces can be a crucial part of a meal, turning plain food into a delicious experience. After all, sometimes we only think we don’t like certain foods because we haven’t tried them with the right seasoning! Sugarlady’s white sauce and other seasoning products are safe and free of chemical seasonings and additives, letting the true, natural flavors of the ingredients themselves shine – and allowing you to enjoy your meal without worry.
How to prepare
Boil in bag: Place the white sauce (still frozen, still in its bag) in boiling water, and heat for 10 to 12 minutes.1 bag (150g) of our white sauce can be used to make 1 serving of gratin. This sauce is an apt flavor and density for gratin, and so can be used as-is. For stew or cream stew, add cornstarch or chicken bouillon, and dilute the sauce by about half before using. If the bag directly touches the rim or other parts of the pot, or if the bag is sticking out or hanging out of the pot, the bag can melt and develop holes. Please defrost with care. Use plenty of caution when opening the bag, as the bag and its contents will have become very hot.
