Located just a few minutes’ walk from Ebisu Station is one of the healthiest places in town: Marugo Deli, a wonderfully neighborly, lively, and unique fresh food and juice store. Originally a coffee and fresh juice stand bar in Okayama, the Ebisu store has elevated the art of nourishing drinks to a wholesome lifestyle.
Everything about this tiny corner shop feels stress-free and friendly, from the hand-chalked menus and signs offering fresh fruits and vegetables, specialty organic coffees, organic snacks, and superfood selections to the smiling staff behind the counter who prepare it all for you.
Walking into organic juice cafe Marugo Deli Ebisu, amidst fully-stocked shelves and customers relaxing at quaint wooden tables and handmade driftwood benches, you’ll feel welcome in the sense of no-rush, slow-food satisfaction. Looking at the menu, you’ll be tempted by a variety of colourful healthy-looking and sounding seasonal drinks, organic granola dishes, and even organic beer. Taking a look around the store, indeed, will immediately impress the fact that Marugo Deli is serious about healthy products, quality service, and the aim for a well-balanced lifestyle.
Owner-and-operator, Kazumi Hashimoto, started organic juice cafe Marugo Deli Ebisu in 2011. Her husband, Kiyoshi, who runs Healthy Partner Juzu next door, wanted to expand his hemp clothing business by adding nutritious food and drinks to the mix. Of course, organic hemp food products play a big part at Marugo Deli; you can try their hemp cookies and smoothies or purchase organic hemp seeds and oil.
It’s really quite amazing what you can discover there, including homemade peanut butter to organic bananas and incredibly appetizing salads and sandwiches. You can certainly rest assured that Marugo Deli’s foods and drinks contain no preservatives or additives. In addition, they strive to use only environmentally friendly materials – even their in-store speakers are made from gourds. Marugo Deli’s philosophy is to create a place and atmosphere where you can truly feel at rest and peace of mind.
Open seven days a week, you can eat in or take away.
