The Bluff Clinic in Yokohama follows a long tradition of providing quality medical and dental care to the international community. The Bluff Clinic traces its roots to a clinic established in 1863 on the grounds of the Yokohama’s Foreign Settlement, at a critical junction in the history of Japan. In the ensuing years, several hospitals and clinics offering medical services followed, as the foreign population continued to grow through the tumultuous years of the Tokugawa Shogunate’s decline and fall, followed by the Meiji Restoration. Eventually, an amalgamation of several existing facilities led to the building of the former Bluff Hospital on the Bluff at 82 Yamate-cho. Our continuing presence on this site remains at the core of our mission to provide quality medical care to the evolving needs of a vibrant community of both Japanese and foreign residents.
