About the product
This eggplant has been grilled and its calyces cleanly cut off; making it attractive and ready to use. While it was hot from grilling, its skin was also removed by hand, leaving just the soft, easy-to-eat flesh.
Eggplant is a popular food around the world, including in Japan. In fact, it is considered lucky if your first dream of a new year has an eggplant in it! Eggplant is also used in French dishes such as ratatouille, and Italian dishes such as eggplant parmesan. Along with being lucky, eggplant is also healthy to eat. It contains chlorogenic acid as well as various vitamins and minerals, including vitamin A, potassium, magnesium, calcium, and phosphorus.
Sugarlady’s produce is harvested in season and then frozen immediately in order to ensure the highest possible nutritional value and best flavor, and remains vibrant and undamaged when frozen for long periods.
