In The Gym in Hamamatsucho a Fitness Club in Minato-ku

There is a new gym in Hamamatsucho just a 5-minute walk from Daimon station, for all of you craving a fitness club in Minato-ku. We caught up with the CEO of In The Gym, Akiyoshi Higuchi and his colleagues on their opening day – June 22, 2015.

HealthyTOKYO is always happy to see a good gym come to an area that up until now has offered very few options for exercise. Many expats visit and work in this area and they now have a place to really break a sweat.

There are very few gyms in Hamamatsucho and none like In The Gym. Many of the fitness clubs in Japan leave their members to fend for themselves, but these guys provide guidance for all. Focused personal training is also available for an additional fee. They have the core equipment, knowledge and training to deliver customized instruction to meet your fitness needs.

The facility is clean and all the equipment is new. This is not a place to sit back and relax as you pedal away slowly on a stationary bicycle and watch TV. They are all about getting your heart pumping with good solid equipment including cardio, free weights, abdominal machines and cables.

The staff is made up of licensed personal trainers with lots of experience. Before they started In The Gym, they created Ark-Athlete, a business that sends personal trainers to other fitness facilities and sports teams to assist those in need.

These guys are friendly, highly qualified and experienced. They welcome overseas residents and visitors. At the time of this writing they do not have any English-speakers, however they are considering hiring some. They offer monthly memberships and daily passes for visitors as well.

In The Gym is located close to Daimon (Exit A1) and Hamamatsucho stations and just a few doors away from Daimon Clinic a HealthyTOKYO partner. JR, Tokyo Monorail, Toei Asakusa and Toei Oedo lines can all be used for easy access. Less than a 5 minute walk from either station.
