About the product
Sugarlady’s Belgian waffles are carefully hand-baked one by one. They are rich in flavor with the fermented butter yet not overly sweet so you can enjoy the natural taste of each ingredients. Belgian granular pearl sugar makes the texture light and crispy.
They are flavorful but simple in style. So you can enjoy them as a breakfast to accompany your protein of choice, such as ham, bacon or eggs, or as a mid-day sweet snack, with fresh cut fruit of the season and some whipped cream, or simply, with more butter and maple syrup on top.
Alternatively, waffle sandwiches are great for lunch. Just place your favorite meats and vegetables between 2 pieces of waffles and you’ve got a sandwich with a Belgian twist.
Fermented butters are made from the cream fermented by lactic acid bacterium. It is a traditional way of making butter in European countries while it was not so common in Japan until recently. Because of the more intense flavor of the butter, fermented butter is increasingly becoming more popular among the Japanese consumers as well.
How to prepare
Thaw at room temperature for about 30 to 60 minutes, and serve as is. For a even better tasting waffle, warm it lightly in a toaster oven (1,000W) for about 1 minute after thawing. If you are in a hurry and have no time to thaw at room temperature, remove the frozen waffle out of the bag and put it in a microwave (500W) for about 20 seconds without putting a plastic wrap over it, then toast it lightly in a toaster oven (1,000W) for about 1 minute. Serve and enjoy while it’s warm.
