About the product
These mixed packages of carrots, corn, and green peas are certified organic by ICS Japan. A staple vegetable combo for salads and vegetable soups and stews both in Japan and around the world, they come in convenient ziplock bags for easy storage. Since the vegetables were cultivated organically, there may be occasional variation in size and color.
Carrots contain vitamins A, K, and C, as well as small amounts of potassium and fiber. Green peas also contain vitamin A, as well as lutein and iron. Corn contains protein, fiber, and small amounts of folate.
Sugarlady’s vegetables are harvested in season and then frozen immediately in order to ensure the highest possible nutritional value and best flavor, and because our vegetables are blanched before freezing, they remain vibrant and undamaged when frozen for long periods. Even if the carrots, corn and green peas remain frozen for months, once defrosted they will still have their bright, beautiful colors.
How to prepare
When using this vegetable mixture, you can take out the portion you need without defrosting the package. The vegetables can be used in a wide range of Japanese and other dishes, including butter stir-fry, soup, pilaf, or fried food. The natural sweetness of the corn and green peas adds great flavor as well as texture to salads. To use in salad, boil them briefly with a little bit of salt and dry off before adding. To use in soup or stir-fry, add the frozen vegetables a little before the dish finishes cooking, and they will thaw to perfection with no need to worry about over-cooking.
