About the product
To make this product, fish caught in Uwajima in Shikoku were turned into niboshi (small dried sardines), mixed with katsuobushi, dried shiitake, and roasted salt, pulverized to a good size for brewing dashi soup stock from, and put into easy-to-use, unbleached packs.
The table salt in this product is included for flavor purposes (if only niboshi is used, making dashi soup stock from the packs becomes more difficult).
Seasonings can be a crucial part of a meal, turning plain food into a delicious experience. After all, sometimes we only think we don’t like certain foods because we haven’t tried them with the right seasoning! Sugarlady’s niboshi dashi soup stock packs and other seasoning products are safe and free of chemical seasonings and additives, letting the true, natural flavors of the ingredients themselves shine – and allowing you to enjoy your meal without worry.
How to prepare
Place your niboshi dashi soup stock pack in water (use approximately 1 pack for every 600ml of water), and heat the water until it boils. Decoct for 3 to 4 minutes, then remove the dashi soup stock pack. The resulting broth can be used for miso soup, mentsuyu (noodle soup base), stews, or other dishes.
