About the product

Not counting the coating, about 82% of the inner part of each of these croquettes is corn (with the coating included, about 47% is corn). One could say these are croquettes made for the purpose of eating corn!

The white sauce in these croquettes is made using wheat flour, butter, and cow’s milk. The sweetness of the corn and the creamy flavor of the white sauce are popular with children. The corn is the star player, but enough white sauce is used to securely hold the corn together. (No potatoes are used in this item).

Preparing fried foods such as croquettes can be quite messy and time-consuming, and as a result many people avoid making their own at home. However, because these croquettes arrive ready to fry, it can save you a great deal of time and nearly all of the cleanup!

These croquettes are small and thus easy to squeeze into the corner of a bento box. Each croquette is 30g (the same size as the ones in our “Economical croquette and minced meat cutlet set” item). Aside from their use in bento boxes, they are also great as snacks.

How to prepare

To fry: Without defrosting them, fry the croquettes in an ample quantity of oil (at 170℃ to 180℃) for about 4 minutes 30 seconds.Notes: If a large number of croquettes are fried at the same time the temperature of the oil will drop, resulting in the croquettes cooking inadequately or breaking apart. Please use caution. If there is frost on the croquettes it can cause the hot oil to jump.Cooking times listed are approximations. Please adjust according to the quantity of oil used and the efficiency of the cookware.Other ways to use the croquettes:Fashionable pinchos: You can make cute pinchos by frying the corn croquettes, and then skewering them between vegetables such as cucumbers and mini tomatoes.Easy toaster-oven-baked croquettes: Place the croquettes on a plate and defrost them in the microwave (about 1 minute). Then remove them from the plate and place each one in an aluminum foil cup. Top with mayonnaise (or cheese, if you prefer), bake for about 5 minutes in a toaster oven, and enjoy!
