By boiling and then baking these bagels, we have given them a springy and elastic texture.
These bagels were also made using wheat flour from Hokkaido (the Tokachi yumechikara blend), shirakami-kodama yeast, and light brown sugar from Kagoshima.
Simply defrost at room temperature, in microwave, or in toaster oven, and enjoy.
Each package is 200g total, contains 2 bagels, and arrives frozen.

About the product

These bagels have a substantial feel to them, and a plump and springy texture. The dough was made using about 11% item #6442 (nama-shibori silken tofu), making the dough very soft (it also has next to no scent of soymilk). Unlike other types of bread, these bagels do not contain eggs or butter; making them low-fat and particularly healthy.

How to prepare

Defrost at room temperature for 3 to 4 hours. Once defrosted, the bagels can be eaten just as they are; but if warmed slightly they will become even more delicious. Microwave: Remove the bagels from their outer bag, wrap them individually in plastic wrap, and microwave approximately as follows. In a 500W or 600W microwave, cook one bagel for 20 seconds and two bagels for 30 seconds. Toaster oven: Remove the bagels from their outer bag and warm them lightly for 1 minute to 1 minute 30 seconds in a 1000W toaster oven. The bagels should be watched while in toaster oven. Example use: Salmon cream sandwich, an old standby: Turn the bagel on its side and cut it in half, then make a sandwich using Sugarlady’s #289 (salmon smoked slices), cream cheese, sliced onions, and black pepper. Example use: Bagel donuts: Cut the bagels into eight or so pieces. Fry the pieces in 180℃ oil (about 1 minute to 1 minute 30 seconds), then sprinkle with Sugarlady item #6302 (crude sugar).
